Hi all,

Autumn is here and despite some rain to start this forecast the following days look quite decent with some overnight chills.

Thursday: A band of rain will move through during the morning followed by scattered showers and some bright spells. Cool and breezy. Max 13°C

Friday: A cool start then sunny spells breaking through. More cloud to the east and a nagging northerly wind. Max 13°C

Weekend: Dry with decent spells of sunshine.

Saturday: A ground-frost to start then sunny spells and lighter winds. Feeling pleasant in the sunshine. Max 13°C

Sunday: Very similar and after the cold start more sunshine on offer. Perhaps cloudier to the east at times. Max 14°C

Outlook: Showery rain moving east on Monday then the rest of the week is currently uncertain and depends on the position of the Jet Stream; so look our for updates later this week.

Plenty of Sunshine and Dry – Thursday 17th September 2020 – Sunday 20th September 2020

Hi all,

We had a brief return to Summer this week and there’s more decent weather to come. Although a change in wind direction means we won’t hit the mid-20s like earlier this week. In fact the maximum temperature for September was broken this week. [My records started in August 2012].

September maximum temperatures:

2020 26.8°C
2019 22.8°C
2018 23.1°C
2017 20.2°C
2016 23.6°C
2015 20.5°C
2014 21.1°C
2013 23.8°C
2012 23.2°C

Thursday: A fresh start then sunny spells and a slight breeze. Warm. Dry. Max 19°C

Friday: Sunny spells and feeling pleasant. Breezy later. Max 17°C

Weekend: Windy but sunny.

Saturday: A good amount of sunshine developing across the region but there will be a gusty northeasterly wind. Max 17°C

Sunday: Still windy but probably less so than yesterday. Dry with more sunny periods on offer after a cloudy morning with rain close to the southeast. Max 16°C

Outlook: Continuing much of the same until midweek when the Jet Stream will start to influence our weather pattern. Showers followed by spells of rain. Enjoy this current spell of weather while you can.

Turning unsettled midweek next week – meanwhile enjoy!

Slowly becoming settled – Thursday 3rd September 2020 – Sunday 6th September 2020

Hi all,

Meteorological Summer is done and the statistics on how it compared to previous summers will be published later this week. Some hot days in there but also plenty of rain and reasonably breezy.

Thursday: A mild start and cloudy with some patchy rain. Sunny spells developing during the day with just the odd shower. Breezy but warm. Max 19°C

Friday: Not a bad day with bright or sunny spells. Breezy and the odd passing shower. A little cooler. Max 17°C

Weekend: Some showers.

Saturday: Breezy with bright spells and a few showers coming in on the west-to-northwest wind. Feeling a little cool at times. Max 16°C

Sunday: Little change, bright spells, passing showers and breezy. Max 17°C

Outlook: High pressure to our southwest so generally settled for a few days with quite cloudy skies. Some bright spells and mostly dry. No sign of any early-Autumn warmth or chill.
