Hi all,

We’ve had some rain over the last week but we continue to be drier than average. Although there is some more rain on the way, the outlook doesn’t bring much and very warm weather will continue into August with a few hot spells at times.

Thursday: A hot day with hazy sunny spells. It will remain dry and humid. Max 29°C

Friday:  Possibly dry to start with some sunny spells. Frontal systems will arrive making the air unstable. This will set off some heavy downpours with a risk of some torrential thunderstorms, especially over the Pennines and the east of the region. Not everywhere will see one. Not as hot but still humid. Max 25°C

Weekend: Fresher for all.

Saturday: Any early showers clearing to a fresher day with plenty of sunny spells. Just the chance an afternoon shower might develop over the hills. Max 20°C

Sunday: A  bright start but cloud will increase from the southwest bringing a risk of some showers or spells of patchy rain. This is still not certain so watch out for updates. Max 21°C

Outlook: Sunny spells and a few showers early next week then perhaps becoming humid and hot again. The chart below shows the heat predicted for the 3rd of August.

Thursday 22nd June 2017 – Sunday 25th June 2017

Hi all,

After several days of very warm to hot weather and a risk of thunderstorms later on Wednesday, we’re finally back to more accustomed conditions.

Thursday: The humid air is now being pushed away to the east after yesterday’s showers cleared the air. A lot of cloud with some localised light rain or drizzle for the morning but it will tend to become a little brighter into the afternoon. Much cooler. Max 18°C

Friday: Cloudy with some rain at times, clearing later into the evening to bring some drier conditions and perhaps some brightness. A fresh westerly breeze. Max 17°C

Weekend: Bright spells and showers. Breezy.

Saturday: Bright spells and some showers with a noticeable breeze. I prefer this to the horrible humidity we experienced earlier in the week. Max 17°C

Sunday: Fewer showers, in fact some places dry with some brightness, and hopefully not as breezy as it was on Saturday. Risk of some rain late-evening and overnight. Temperatures around normal. Max 16°C

Outlook: Likely to turn more unsettled with showers and temperatures slipping just below normal.

Hi all,

After a few changeable days the weather warmed up again on Wednesday and the general theme over the weekend is for more summery temperatures to arrive.

Thursday: Yesterday’s warmth and humidity will be replaced by fresher air from the west. Cloudy with some isolated rain during the morning, moving west to east, followed by brighter skies and perhaps an afternoon or evening shower. Max 18°C

Friday: Generally cloudy, some brightness and mainly dry. A little breezy and temperatures around normal. Max 18°C

Weekend: Very warm sunny spells with variable cloud.

Saturday: A cloudy start is expected but some warm sunny spells will break through at times, especially later in the day. Some northwestern areas and along the west coast could remain cloudy all day. Remaining dry with a slight breeze. Max 22°C but localised sunnier spots could go a couple of degrees higher. 

Sunday: Sunny spells and very warm. It should remain dry again and pleasant. BBQ anyone? High UV levels. Lighter winds. Max 24°C

Outlook: A very warm start but fresher conditions following on from the west but it will remain generally settled with sunny spells and just a few showers.

Thursday 25th May 2017 – Bank Holiday Monday 29th May 2017

Hi all,

After some welcome rain last week, it’s time to turn up the heat as we experience our first taste of Summer temperatures. However, after initially hoping it would last all weekend, it is now looking like Friday will be the warmest day with a cooling trend over the weekend.

High pressure has built in across the UK as this week has gone on and with it comes some very warm and humid air from the southeast.

High pressure brings us a short spell of hot & humid sunny weather

Thursday: Dry with sunny spells developing and with light winds it will feel humid and becoming hot. Max 26°C

Friday: A little breeze will develop but this coming from the southeast will only help import warmer air. Feeling hot and humid with plenty of sunny skies. Max 26°C

Saturday: Low pressure bringing a showery breakdown of the heat with possible thunderstorms

Saturday: Feeling very humid to start the day with some sunny spells but less sunshine later as low pressure tracks in from the southwest. During the day we can expect a breakdown from the hot and humid conditions with heavy, possibly thundery, showers coming in from the west. Fresher air will follow, which will be welcome. Max 23°C

Sunday: Cooler as fresher air takes over from the west. Some sunny spells but with a risk of showers. Temperatures down on recent days, welcome news for the Great Manchester Run. Max 19°C

Bank Holiday Monday: A westerly airflow across the region. Some bright spells but thicker cloud at times too. Max 18°C

Hi all,

If you’ve been keeping up to date with my tweets recently, you will notice that we have some warmer, possibly hot, weather on the way. This is still the case, but the length of the heat and how hot it becomes is fluctuating daily. The usual media bull is out there again saying it will last 2 weeks. At the time of writing this blog, it’s more like 2-3 days. So ignore their lies.

Thursday: Cloudy with some rain during the morning. Hopefully, bar some hill-drizzle, all of the rain should ease away into the afternoon but it will still remain cool and cloudy. Max 17°C.

Friday: Bright spells and some thicker cloud at times which could produce some showers, especially in northern parts. Windy at times and temperatures improving. Max 19°C.

The weekend doesn’t look too bad. Sunday the best day I reckon.

Saturday: A mainly cloudy morning which could see some light rain or drizzle. Drier with bright spells into the afternoon and with lighter winds feeling pleasant. Max 18°C.

Sunday: Becoming warmer with sunny spells developing. Max 21°C.

Hot air being dragged up from Spain is responsible for next week’s heat

Next week sees it become very warm or even hot into Monday/Tuesday but it will only last two or three days. We will have sunny spells but it will be muggy and we could see temperatures peaking at 27°C, before it turns cooler from midweek, with maybe a thundery breakdown. I have been tweeting about this possible heat next week and will continue to do so. There is still a chance this doesn’t happen at all [or even be slightly hotter and last longer] and I’ll be keeping you updated on Twitter, @ChadWeather.
