Becoming Warmer – Thursday 13th June 2019 – Sunday 16th June 2019

Hi,

The weather jumped forward to late-Autumn this week with spells of rain, cold northeasterly winds and temperatures some 5°C below the June average. Is there any warmth in sight is the question I keep getting asked and my response over the last week has been; ‘wait until the 20th’. Is that the date we finally see some Summer-like weather?

Thursday: Low pressure in charge, so bright spells with some showers breaking out, which could well be thundery and heaviest in the South and East. Max 14°C

Friday: Any early rain clears to bright or sunny spells with scattered showers. Feeling less cold with a southwesterly airflow in place. Max 16°C

Weekend: Showery, warm in any sun

Saturday: Sunny spells but still showers at times and there is a chance some showers could merge to bring a longer spell of rain for a time. Max 16°C

Sunday: Pressure starts to build slightly so more in the way of sunny spells and although we will still have some showers around, there should be fewer than recently. Feeling warmer. Max 17°C

Outlook: Warmer with sunny spells and drier. As the week progresses, low pressure will edge in from the west bringing the threat of some sharp showers and thunderstorms developing during the day. Remaining on the warm side which is welcome news.
