Thursday 29th June 2017 – Sunday 2nd July 2017

Hi all,

Rain, rain and more rain fell on Wednesday making it one of the wettest June days I’ve recorded. The good news is the weather will improve in time for the weekend.

Thursday: Cloudy with rain during the morning but it should be light and not as persistent as Wednesday. Slowly drier into the afternoon and a little warmer. Max 17°C

Friday: Generally cloudy again with some rain or showers at times. Breezy. Max 17°C

Weekend: An improvement but windy.

Saturday: Sunny spells and mostly dry. Breezy especially later on and there will be some passing rain during the night. Max 17°C

Sunday: A fresh westerly wind but after any morning rain clears it should be dry with some bright spells. Max 16°C

Looking ahead: High pressure will try and push up from the south but not guaranteed to anchor itself over the UK. Overall a bit warmer and some drier slots with bright spells.

Thursday 8th June 2017 – Sunday 11th June 2017

Hi all,

Welcome to Summer. LOL. It’s been feeling more like autumn this week as an unusually deep area of low pressure for the time of year brought gale-force gusts in exposed places and over 30mm of rain in 48 hours. Locally, in higher locations, 40mm was recorded as well as gusts to 57mph. Impressive stuff.

Summer hasn’t started well after unusually windy weather earlier this week

Will the real summer be making an appearance soon? It doesn’t look like it as there’s no sign of any prolonged sunshine and heat in the next 7 days.

Thursday: Cloudy and wet with rain at times. It’s going to be particularly heavy in the morning and slowly more showery into the afternoon. Some of the late-in-the-day showers could be thundery with hail. Feeling muggy. Max 17°C

Friday: An area of low pressure over the U.K. but it will be quite flabby so no issue with the strength of the wind. Sunny spells and showers the order of the day. Pleasant in any sunshine and the showers easing later. Max 18°C

Weekend: Sunday’s the best day

A wet start to the weekend

Saturday: A band of rain sweeps in quickly from the west followed by showers. Breezy at times. Max 18°C

Sunday: A better day and therefore feeling warmer. Bright spells and perhaps a few light showers. Max 18°C

Looking ahead: Breezy with sunshine and showers but midweek onwards should see the weather settle down as high pressure builds. At the end of the week and into the weekend it could start to warm up nicely with temperatures into the 20s.

Thursday 1st June 2017 – Sunday 4th June 2017

Hi all,

After a lovely Wednesday with plenty of sunshine what’s in store as we enter our meteorological Summer.

Thursday: A cloudy day with some brightness especially during the morning. We drag up air from the South so turning humid and muggy. Max 22°C

Friday: A muggy day. Cloud will thicken and rain, perhaps heavy and thundery, will arrive from the west. After a humid start it will slowly become fresher. Max 17°C

Saturday: Westerly winds back in charge so cooler and fresher but with some nice sunny spells and a few showers. Max 16°C

Sunday: Not much change. Sunshine and showers. Pleasant in any sunshine this weekend as the sun is strong as this time of the year. Max 16°C

Outlook: Low pressure to our north at times and high pressure to our south, so basically a sunshine and showers mixture. Perhaps breezy at times and temperatures around normal or just below with some cool nights.

As always the British weather is very changeable, so keep up-to-date with your local weather by following @ChadWeather on Twitter.

Thursday 18th May 2017 – Sunday 21st May 2017

Hi all,

Well the rain certainly returned this week and all of a sudden everywhere looks green and is growing. It was much-needed rain but it’s already time the sun returned.

Quite a complex set-up these coming days with timing tricky on when it will rain etc.; as always is the case with showers.

Thursday: A much-improved day than recently with sunny spells and a scattering of heavy showers. Feeling fresher after some humid days. Max 16°C

Friday: A bright start but with low pressure close by to our west, cloud will bubble up during the day with showers arriving. Max 15°C

A showery weekend
Saturday & Sunday: Bright spells and showers. Catch a shower and it could be heavy with hail and thunder and it will feel cool as temperatures drop. Pleasant in any prolonged sunshine. Max 14°C

Any clear spells overnight will lead to quite chilly conditions and even though the risk isn’t that high, we could see the odd rural groundfrost.

Outlook: Showery then hopefully high pressure will build and kill off the showers and allow for some sunshine. However, it doesn’t look set to last with showery conditions returning. Remaining fresh.

Thursday 11th May 2017 – Sunday 14th May 2017

Hi all,

After only 20% of the monthly average rainfall in April we’re now 11 days into May and we’ve had zero rainfall, but that’s all about to change.

Headline: We lose the very dry and settled conditions that we’ve had for several weeks as the weather changes to come from the more usual west/southwest direction.

Thursday: Another (last one) sunny day. The sun will turn hazy later on. Feeling very warm and in the early hours of Friday a chance of some heavy showers. Max 19°C

Friday: Cloudy with some heavy showers. These could turn thundery during the day. Some bright spells in between. Much-needed rainfall so we can’t complain. Remaining quite warm though. Max 16°C

A mixed weekend ahead.

Saturday: Sunshine and a few showers of which could be heavy but well-scattered. Feeling warm with any sunshine. A band of more general rain possible overnight. Max 16°C

Sunday: Hopefully not too bad. Bright or sunny spells with a chance of some showery rain towards the evening. Max 16°C

Outlook: Remaining warm with temperatures well into the teens with sunshine and showers. Nights will be less chilly after we experienced some ground frosts this week.

Thursday 9th March 2017 – Sunday 12th March 2017

Hi,

We’ve actually had a couple of reasonable days this week with the recent heavy rain coming overnight last night and tomorrow sees the sunshine continue.

Thursday: Dry with sunny spells throughout the day. Windy at first but this easing. Feeling pleasant into the afternoon. Max 11°C

Friday: A cloudy day with some hill-fog and rain at times. Most of the rain will be patchy with some drier spells in between. Likely to be drizzly most of the day on the hills. Max 11°C

Saturday: Showery rain likely during the morning but some brighter, drier spells for later in the day. Breezy. Max 10°C

Cooler as the weekend goes on after a mild few days

Sunday: Rain will come in from the west then turn showery and introduce cooler air with some sunny spells. Max 9°C

Looking ahead: Little change at first with similar temperatures and some showery rain. Later in the week perhaps a few days of drying conditions.

Thanks,
Jon
